In autumn of 2001 Baltika, the first independent radio station in St. Petersburg, celebrated its 10th anniversary.
The station started its work in medium bands; now its stereo broadcasting frequencies are EM 104.8 and UHF 71.24 MHz.
For the first time in the history of Russia's FM broadcasting a radio station appeared dedicated exclusively to Russian music and AC RUSSIAN, the new musical format for radio stations, was created.
The station has its own information service. Two thirds of news are exclusive, received from own information sources.
Over the past years, many of the station's programs were given prestigious awards such as Golden Ostap, the journalist award Golden Pen, Soros Foundation grant or the first prize of the Time to Live in Russia National Advertising Competition.
