Институт создает и организует производство прогрессивных металлических, неметаллических, композиционных и функциональных материалов для судостроения, машиностроения, атомной энергетики, нефте- и газодобычи и переработки, строительства, медицины и т.п.; разрабатывает и поставляет сварочные материалы и технологии, оборудование для сварки и нанесения защитных покрытий; осуществляет контроль, аттестацию и сертификацию материалов и производств.
Established in 1939.
The institute creates and organizes the production of advanced metallic, nonmetallic, composite and functional materials which are used in shipbuilding, machine-building, nuclear power engineering, oil- and gas production and reprocessing, civil engineering, medicine and so on; the institute develops and supplies welding materials (electrodes, wire, fluxes) and technologies, equipment for welding and applying protective coatings; the institute undertakes the checking, attestation and certification of materials and production shops.
