Shanghai GaoQiao Petrochemical Corporation (GPC) is a subsidiary of the national petrochemical head company - SINOPEC.
GPC owns more than 300 products such as gasoline, jet kerosene, diesel oil, lube oil, wax, synthetic rubber, organic chemicals, synthetic plastics and fine chemical products etc. The corporation possessed 9,200 millions RMBY net value of fixed assets by 1999, while the sales revenue for this year reached 11,900 millions RMBY and profit and tax amounted to 1,425 millions RMBY.
10 items of the corporation's scientific research achievements won the state issued science & technology prize and 101 items were awarded the same kind of prize by SINOPEC and Shanghai Super Quality New Product. GPC exports products to Japan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Europe, America and Africa. Several joint ventures were established between GPCand world famous large companies as BASF, Caltex, Ciba-Geigy and Mitsui etc., all enjoying well benefit from their start-up.
