На побережье Восточной Балтики Клайпедский порт является самым северным незамерзающим портом. Железные и автодороги соединяют Клайпеду с Беларусью, Россией, Украиной, а судоходные линии - с государствами бассейна Балтийского моря, Западной Европы, Америки и Юго-Восточной Азии.
Клайпедский порт - универсальный. Уже сейчас в нем можно перегружать свыше 20 млн. тонн в год разных грузов: металлов, нефтепродуктов, удобрений, древесины, контейнеров, мороженых продуктов, зерновых, вагонов, трейлеров и автотрейлеров, автомобилей.
Klaipeda Port connects the principal sea and land routes in the West-East direction and it is the main hub of 9B branch of IX international multimodal European transport corridor. Favourable geographical position of both Klaipeda Port and Lithuania adds to the attractiveness of the Port. Klaipeda Port is the northernmost ice-free Port. It has good motorway and railway links to Belarus, Russia, the Ukraine and permanent shipping lines to the Baltic Sea, Western Europe, America and south-east Asia states.
Klaipeda Port is a multipurpose port and now is capable to handle more than 20 million tons of different types of cargo per year: metal and steel, oil products, fertilizers, timber, containers, refrigerated products, cereals, rail-wagons, trailers, autotrailers and automobiles.
