Aqua Therm St.Petersburg - 2014

The 1st International exhibition for domestic and industrial heating, water supply, sanitary, air-conditioning, ventilation, equipment for pools, saunas and spa - "Aqua-Therm St. Petersburg - 2014" was held on the 9th-12th of April, 2014 in Lenexpo Exhibition centre.

Launch of a new project fulfilled the request of the intensively developing region for the latest technologies and solutions brought within the arm's reach of institutions, suppliers, consumers and end-users in North-West Federal District of Russia. The first HVAC event of such a scale in the North-West of Russia arose on the foundation of Aqua-Therm Moscow experience and "Water supply" and "Teplovent" (INTERSTROYEXPO sectors) exposures unified to create the best opportunities for the dialogue of all industry representatives.

Results of the premiere HVAC & R exhibition in the North-West region indicate its actual demand on the market: 5217 unique visitors attended the show within 4 working days. The 1st "Aqua-Therm in St. Petersburg" hosted 166 companies from 9 countries on the total exhibition area 4,600 sq. m.

High importance of B2B platforms for construction and HVAC industries of the North-West was highlighted by the presence of state and regional government authorities at the official opening ceremony. The event was attended by Georgiy Poltavchenko (Governor of St. Petersburg), Leonid Stavitsky (First Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing of Russian Federation), Marat Oganesyan (Vice Governor of St. Petersburg), Vitaliy Zhdanov (Chairman of the Construction Committee of the Leningrad region), Vladimir Yakovlev (President of the Russian Union of Constructors), Alexander Vakhmistrov (First Vice-president of the National Association of Constructors (NOSTROY), Chairman of the St. Petersburg Government Public Council for coordination of SROs in St. Petersburg), Lev Kaplan (Vice President, Director of the St. Petersburg Union of Construction Companies "Soyuzpetrostroy"), representatives of trade unions, self-regulatory organizations and consulates, and exhibition co-organisers - Gregory Zaraisky (CEO, Reed Exhibitions (Russia)) and Irina Lubina (General Director, Primexpo Ltd).

Among the leading international and domestic companies presented at the show were: Alterplast, Ego Engineering, Eurotis, Grundfos, Interma, Kaleo Rus, Marko-Pool, ROLS Isomarket, Sablayn Service, Siemens, Termaflex Isolyatsia+, Termoros, Topol-Eco, Viega, Wavin Ekoplastik, Wilo Rus and many others.

"Aqua-Therm St. Petersburg - 2014" exhibitors represented 9 countries: Belarus, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine.

The majority of 5217 visitors who attended the show specialise in manufacturing (29 %), installation works (27 %), wholesale (22 %), construction activities (21 %), retail (12 %), service providing (12 %), etc. Their professional activity is connected with conditioning and ventilation (41 %), sanitary equipment (27 %), mounting equipment (20 %), power engineering (16 %), testing and measuring tools (12 %), pools and saunas (10 %), architects and building construction (10 %), finishing and building materials (10 %), etc.

Project participants presented innovations and solutions to reduce emissions, consumption of gas, water and energy, exploit natural resources efficiently and renewable energy sources introduction.

In order to make industry dialogue more intensive "Aqua-Therm St. Petersburg - 2014" included business programme which was held on the 10th and 11th of April. The key event of the programme - 16th specialized conference "Effective heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and heating supply" included a series of reports and master classes on energy efficiency. The event was organized by Russian Association of Engineers for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, Heat Supply and Building Thermal Physics (ABOK Association), a non-government public organization, which implements its activity independently and for the purpose of advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning for the benefit of the general public, positive effect on the environment and natural resources, to protect the interests of future generations.

16th specialized conference "Effective heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and heating supply" introduced the following topics for discussion:

• Energy-efficient solutions in heating, water supply and ventilation systems
• Highly energy-efficient pumps
• New generation of heat exchangers with micro plates
• Energy-efficient thermal insulation solutions for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems
• Effective use of high quality insulation in the engineering systems
• Energy-efficient heat refrigeration facilities based on absorption chillers
• Energy-efficient air purification system
• Technological aspects and analysis of the technical surveys' results of water supply and sanitation projects
• Energy-efficient solutions in the engineering systems

Within the frameworks of conference there was also introduced АВОК Master Class "Compensating outdoor air supply by plenum smoke ventilation. Recovery requirements for removed by exhaust smoke ventilation volume of combustion products. Features and examples of calculation", which touched upon various cases of this technology application:

Business programme included seminars organized by producing, developing and distributing companies which presented their novelties in:
