In 2009, the "Expocenter" will celebrate its 50th anniversary, and one of its oldest shows - "Khimia", which has been held since 1965, will mark its 45th anniversary. All these years the exhibition has been the main show for the Russian chemical sector and it sits tight even in the conditions of the economic downturn. This year the exhibition has brought together 550 exhibitors from 29 countries, including 300 national companies, on the area of 15,000 sqm.
Despite the crisis, the organizers managed to attract to participation at the exhibition "Khimia - 2009" the leading enterprises of the Russian chemical sector, - told the First Vice-President of "Roskhimneft" CJSC - S.V. Golubkov. - This means that the chemical industry in Russia is alive and has a good prospects for recovery and development.
Over 110 enterprises from 9 countries will become the exhibitors of the International Specialized Exhibition "Plastics Industry - 2009", which will be organized in association with "PIK "Maksima" CJSC and Central Exhibition Complex "Expocenter" this year, - said to the journalists the Deneral Director of "PIK "Maksima" CJSC - O.K. Pakshin. - The organizers prepared many interesting newly-designed products for expert visitors: for the first time within the framework of the exhibitiona a collective exposition of Taiwan will be presented, a massive conference programme is planned, "Made in Russia" campaign will be carried out and a lot of other events.
The International Exhibition "Khimia - 2009" is held with the support and participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF and is the part of the routine work of the ministry, including legislative work, that is aimed at the development of the chemical industry of the RF. According to V.A. Potapkin, who is participating in the press-conference and is the Head of the Technical Regulation Department of the Chemical-Engineering Industry and Bioengineering Technologies of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF, the exhibition creates conditions for renovation of the national chemical industry by means of presenting the opportunity to estimate the prospects of the industry development and by establishing business relations between the Russian and foreign enterprises and supporting investment projects.
The specialty of the show "Khimia - 2009" is not only an interesting exposition, but also an extended programme of the show, - emphasized the Presidentof the Association of Russian Chemists - V.P. Ivanov. Exhibition arrangements are devoted to the most urgent problems of the Russian chemical industry development.
From year to year swells the number of scientific and technical arrangements, including those, which stand in the programme of the Center of Science and Vocational Training. P.D. Sarkisov, the president of the Russian Chemical-Engineering University n.a. D.I. Mendeleev and the president of The Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, told about the work of the Center and about conferences, which are devoted to the industry current condition, innovative trends in chemical industry, problems of various raw stuff processing, introduction of energy and resource saving technologies and other issues. Special attention deserves the competition of the projects of the young scientists, which in P.D.Sarkisov's opinion, not only contributes to the introduction of the advanced technologies, but also helps to solve personnel problems at the enterprises of the industry.
For the first time in Russia, within the framework of the exhibition "Khimia - 2009", the sitting of a committee "Responsible Care" of the International Chemical Association Counsel will be held. The programme of technical seminars is of indisputable interest for the experts. A number of exhibition's arrangements are dedicated to the 175th anniversary of D.I. Mendeleev's birth, which is to be celebrated this year.
