Coatings and Surface Treatment - 2009

During the 2009 show, exhibitors demonstrated their latest developments, chemicals, materials, equipment and accessories for coating and surfacing, as well as control equipment, polymers and anodes for plating industry.


The total exhibition area - 1,800 sqm, 74 companies from Russia, Ukraine, France, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, China, Italy and the USA took part in EXPOCOATING. Over 3 days 4,500 experts visited the exhibition.

The comprehensive EXPOCOATING business programme included the research-to-practice conference. Despite the economic situation, the conference generated a large amount of interest: 92 delegates from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany and Czech Republic visited the event. Representatives from 84 organisations from 36 cities in Russia including: Moscow, Saransk, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, St.Petersburg, N.Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Komsomolsk-na-Amure, Voronezh, Ulyanovsk, Saratov, Vladimir, Perm, Kaluga, Samara, Kaliningrad, Smolensk, Brest, Kazan, Izhevsk also took part in the conference. 24 presentation were made during the conference.


They represented the following 3 industry areas:

  • Metal and alloy coating techniques
  • Designing, reconstruction and equipment for electroplating shops
  • Solutions of electroplating production problems.

Prof. V. Kudryavtsev in plenary lecture discussed the current state and presented an outlook of the electroplating industry in Russia and abroad. Lectures made by representative of several German Companies (Atotech, D. Ryabukhin; Entone, A. Plett; Max-Schlotter, R. Mulin) and Galvanit, Russia (D. Zarekin) who spoke on the progress in the deposition techniques for protective and decorative metal and alloy coatings and on the replacement of hexavalent chromating to trivalent one in the European car manufacturing industry, attracted much interest of listeners.


Reports from representatives of the Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology (I. Kramkov), companies Elma, St.Petersburg (V. Tereshkin), Sonis ООО, Moscow (B. Baizuldin), DAU Corning, Germany (I. Oshkin), CSTS ОАО, St.Petersburg (V. Golland), ОАО National Institute for Avia-Technologies, Moscow (L. Petrov), Institute for Physical Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow (L. Solodkova) described other coating types.


V. Mazur (Radan, St.Petersburg), Golubek Vit (Aquacomp Hard, Czechia), E. Krylov (ООО RTS Engineering, Moscow), V. Kharlamov (Galvanogroup, Moscow), A. Ventsel (Simona, Germany) reported on various topics of coatings production, equipment and instrumentation. V. Kolesnikov and S. Kruglikov (Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology, Moscow, Russia), V. Pavlova (ZAO BMT, Vladimir), F. Popov (Serfilko, Russia - USA) also talked about environmental problems of electroplating plants and printed circuit boards production.


Many participants commented that it was one of the most interesting and useful conferences they had attended for recent years.


The 'Kino' restaurant was the location for the formal evening reception dedicated to the opening of the exhibition and conference. Exhibitors, Primexpo partners and media representatives were present. During the gala reception, the Krugozor Expo Travel prize draw was held. The prize was a relaxing weekend in a SPA & hotel. in St.Petersburg). Exhibitors were presented with awards in the categories listed below.
