Fitness Moscow - 2009

On September 11-13, under the auspice of the Moscow government, at the central exhibition hall "Manezh", a bright and long remembered event was held - the 5th Anniversary Exhibition-Festival "Fitness Moscow - 2009".

The exhibition had a record number of both exhibitors - over 200, and visitors - nearly 45,000 of Muscovites and city guests, which showed that they are the active supporters of healthy life style.

The directors of the leading fitness-centers had a pleasure to note, that the slogan of the exhibition-festival - "To all generations - sports with high spirits!" finds more and more supporters every year.

As explained by the exhibition Director, Moscow Mayor Deputy Chairman of the Public Coordination Counsel on the Development of the Public Physical Culture and Sports Victoria Soboleva, "Exhibition-festival is an event, which doesn't have any counterpart in sports life of the capital. We wish the sports and the absence of bad habits would become fashionable. We all, the visitors and exhibitors were united by the aspiration to be sportive. Every visitor, irrespecive of age, has found an occupation to his liking. And the most important is that everyone has got positive energy, juvenile ardour and good mood. I would like to thank separately the companies, which acted as coorganizers. Thanks to our united efforts the holiday was successful!"

A great number of surprises and gifts were waiting for the exhibition visitors: the daily 9-hour long marathons of master-classes and show perfirmances were held on 10 stages and 15 topical platforms: presentations of fitness-programmes and new up-to-date sports equipment, power trainings, dancing lessons of the professional dancing studios and schools, interactive programmes for visitors under the guidance of professional instructors and coaches on team and extreme sports, figure skating and hockey, presentations of the modern fitness programmes of different arts and sports - such as yoga and martial arts, competitions, practical jokes.

While preserving all the best in the programme, which has become the visit card of the exhibition-festival, the organizers added many interesting novelties.

Th 5th anniversary exhibition showed for the first time:

1. Record number of foreign presenters on aerobics and dancing
2. Record number of festivals and competitions
3. International Fitness Open Moscow '09 - a competition for the professional instructors of Moscow fitness clubs
4. Personal competitions for the amateurs in earobics - fitness-profi
5. Semifinal of the Moscow Mayor Cup Competition on the dancing aerobics among various fitness club teams (54 teams took part in it)
6. On the ground near "Manezh" - the unique event in the dancing life of the city - The Second All-Russian Electro Dance Festival - a contest of the best dancers from Russia, Belorus, and Ukraine
7. Moscow cheer leading team festival with participation of over 20 teams
8. Moscow Championship in Sumo for different age categories
9. In the children's sector there was a show of the participants of the festival "Talants, sports, phantasy", with the prize winners of Moscow Mayor Cup competitions for children and youths "Olympics Hopes".
10. Topical platforms - boxing ring, tramp, mini-stage, shooting range for archers, which were used by the pupils of Moscomsport schools and at which master-classes were held
11. Bow and crossbow archers competitions for handicapped sportsmen
12. The first professional exhibition of sports photographs "100 Moments of Moscow Sports" - exposition of the best works of photographers specialized in sports in 2008-2009.
13. Shows of fashionable sports clothes, clothes for rest and active leasure were carried out with success on the podium. The collections "Russians Go!" and "Cartoons" were presented by the young designer Antonina Shapovalova.
14. For the first time the work of the exhibition at "Manezh" was covered by interactive film set of "Zhivi" channel. The guests and visitors could take part in shooting
15. Business conference "Russian Fitness-Industry - 2009"

There was a ceremony of rewarding the winner "Public Fitness Rewards" at the exhibition. This year the diplomas were presented to the reporter of the "Sports" channel Dmitry Guberniev and fitness club stars.

Three-time olympic champion in figure skating Irina Rodnina came to the anniversary exhibition together with her friends in order to celebrate her anniversary. There was a surprise for the famous sportswoman - a dancing programme "Music of Victories" and demonstrative performances of the young figure-skaters.

5 year is a term, which allows to judge of the compliance of the project declared goals to the interests of participants and visitors. The anniversary exhibition-fastival "Fitness Moscow - 2009" convincingly proved, that this project is interesting and needful for the Muscovites.
