Georgia Build - 2006
The 3rd Georgian International Construction Exhibition - GeorgiaBuild - 2006 was held on June 15-17 in Sport Palace, Tbilisi. GeorgiaBuild is included in to series of construction exhibitions organised by company ITE Group PLC in 12 countries worldwide, among witch: MosBuild (Russia), KievBuild (Ukraine), KazBuild (Kazakhstan), BakuBuild (Azerbaijan), UzBuild (Uzbekistan) and others.
Organisers of GeorgiaBuild - 2006 - British exhibition company ITE Group PLC leading organiser of exhibitions and conferences in the CIS and East European countries and its partner in Georgia Iteca Kavkasia Ltd. The exhibition was officially supported by the City Council Tbilisi, Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia, Union of Architects of Georgia and Construction Federation of Georgia.
44 companies from 11 countries participated in the exhibition: ABLOY (Finland), AWORD (Georgia), CALPEDA (Italy), CENTER POINT GROUP (Georgia), EMBAWOOD (Azerbaijan), HASSAN (Turkey), HUNTER PLASTIC (Great Britain), JUN JIN EUROPE (Belgium), KALMATRONNOVERA (Georgia), KREDMASH (Ukraine), MEKA (Turkey), PASСHAL (Germany), RUSTECHNOPLAST (Russia), SLAVYANSKIE OBOI (Ukraine), SPIRO (Switzerland), SILK ROAD GROUP (Georgia), TECHNONICOL (Russia), TEXX GROUP (Georgia), TRANSINVEST CAPITAL GEORGIA (Georgia) and many others. In the frame of the exhibition for the first time was represented Finnish National Stand. Developers Association of Georgia (which has united such members as ARCI, ARKSTUDIA, AXIS, BAGEBI 2002, MAGI STYLE and IBERIA CONSTRUCTION) also participated in the exhibition. The latest achievements in various building spheres such as: construction, construction materials, heating and ventilation, construction equipment and tools, construction technique, doors and windows, pumping equipment, furniture and interior, trim materials and others were presented at GeorgiaBuild - 2006.
Holding of GeorgiaBuild - 2006 is extremely relevant nowadays as construction industry being one of the most rapidly developing sector of the Georgian economy during recent few years. The annual growth rate in the construction sector is over 20%. Volume of construction works in 2005 amounted to USD $603 mln. In Georgia have started new projects concerned with construction of a new terminal of the International Airport in Tbilisi (USS $100 mln.), construction of airport in Batumi, Khudoni Hydroelectric Power Station, 390km Poti-Red Bridge speed highway (EURO 300 mln.), Tbilisi-Samtskhe-Javakheti highway, Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway (USD $400 mln.), oil refinery factory in Supsa (USD $500 mln.). At least 800 mln. EURO will be invested in construction of new roads, hotels and other object next year.
One of the main goals of the exhibition GeorgiaBuild was to promote contribution in development of the country's building sector through attraction of foreign producers, their familiarization with the Georgian market, support of Georgian producers' integration in the international market. The exhibition also attracted attention of foreign investors in local production development.
More than 6000 visitors attended the exhibition during the three days of its work.
