PTA. Advanced Automation Technologies. Moscow - 2009


The 9th International Specialized Exhibition "Advanced Automation Technologies PTA - 2009" finished its work in Moscow.


On September 22-24, in Moscow, at the "Expocenter" on Krasnaya Presnya there was the 9th International Specialized Exhibition "Advanced Autpmation Technologies PTA - 2009". The traditional organizer was "Expotronika" exhibition company, the leader in the sphere of carrying out specialized exhibitions and conferences on automation and inbuit systems.


The exhibition topics included:

  • automation of industrial enterprise
  • automation of operation procedure
  • systems of pneumatic and hydraulic automation
  • on-board and inbuilt systems
  • system integration and consulting
  • buildings automation

There were over 100 companies which took part in the exhibition from Russia, Germany, Taiwan, USA, Japan, South Korea and which play the leading role on the Russian market of industrial automation. Among them were: Autonics Corporation, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, ABB, Pepperl+Fuchs Automation, Beckhoff Automation, Phoenix Contact Rus, Weidmueller Interface GmbH&Co. KG, WAGO Contact RusLLC, At-Electro, Krug, Point Company, Quarta Technologies, Harting, Prosoft, PLKSystems, Rittal, Eplan Software & Service, Schroff GmbH, Softlink Technology Co, Ltd, SWD Software, VIPA GmbH, Lenze, MZTA, Iconics, EleSi, Elemer, NPP, Tekhnika-Service, IPC2U, Elektro-Profi, KUKA Robotics Rus and many others.


As explained by the General Director of "Expotronika" CJSC - Afanasieva O.V.: - "Today PTA presents the strongest ones, those, who offer really required solutions, those, from whom our "tomorrow" depends. As a result, only those companies are represented at the exhibition which, on the one hand, are the most stable, on the other hand, are the most forward-looking and clearly see their positions in the future".


The newly-designed products were exhibited at the stands. For example, the company Phoenix Contact Rus presented electronic noncontact starters of the series Contactron. The main advantage of the starters was a unique overall size, which had been made possible thanks to the patent "hybrid" circuit.


The Prosoft company demonstrated the new multifanctional AdvantiX, that can be used for building up systems with high computation density or where there is a deficiency in space for computers.


The official support to the exhibition was given by Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RF, Union of Oil-and-Gas Producers of Russia, Committee of the CCI of the RF on energy strategies and fuel and energy complex development, Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministery of Education and Science of the RF, Department of Science and Industrial Development Policy of Moscow.


The work of the exhibition was covered by the leading mass media and information agencies.


The exhibition started with the opening ceremony. Welcoming remarks to the exhibitors were made by the ex-Vice-President, secretary for the European, Middle East, and African Regions of the International Society of Instrument Making, Systems and Automation (ISA), the member of coordination board of the International Scientific-Technical Society of Instrumentation Engineers and Metrologists - Bobovich A.V., Deputy General Director of "Expocenter" CJSC - Katasonov P.G., Director of the Building Automation Center - Maksimenko V.A., General Director of "Expotronika" CJSC - Afanasieva O.V. During the opening ceremony there was a demonstration of a film, which presented PTA exhibitions and conferences in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kiev.


For the ninth time there was a competition of the "STA" magazine in the nomination "The best project". The prise was won by the company "Tekon-Automation", which presented the project "The integrated dispatching control of the residential microdistrict Nagatino-Sadovniki".


A very significant event for the Russian automation professional community - International Conference on Automatic Process Control Systems and Inbuilt Systems was held concurrently to the exhibition in two conference rooms. The experts presented papers in the fields of: inbuilt systems, buildings automation, automatic process control systems and system intergration. The PTA exhibitions are all the more frequently becoming the platforms for long hour seminars of the companies. Such seminars, at the exhibition "Advanced Automation Technologies PTA - 2009" were organized by the companies Autonics Corporation, IPC2U, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, SWD Software, Krug.


A press-tour for the informational partners was held within the framework of the exhibition "Advanced Automation Technologies PTA - 2009". The press-tour is an efficient way for journalists to be acquainted with the actual trends of the automation market, to understand the prospects of development by means of communication with representatives of exhibiting companies. 14 companies took part in the press-tour, they play a very significant role in their business segments, among them were: SWD Software, ABB, Weidmuller, Autonics Corporation, rosoft and others. The exhibitors used the opportunity not only to tell about their achievements and novelties, but also to demonstrate their instruments in operation at the stands. The expert guide of the press-tour was George Martinov, D.Tech., professor, head of a department "Computer Management Systems" of the State Technological University STANKIN. Such event was held at the exhibition "Advanced Automation Technologies PTA - 2009" for the first time, but it received good comments and there were requests to arrange tours for mass media representatives at every subsequent exhibition. In the eyes of the exhibitors and the press representatives, such way of communication was a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the market trends more deeply. The press-tour also arouse much interest with the exhibition visitors, they joined the "excursionists" and learned a lot of new interesting and useful information.


The business programme of the exhibition included about 50 seminars, presentations, and lectures. Besides, training films and presentations of exhibiting companies were demonstrated.


In accordance with the survey among the exhibitors to the exhibition "Advanced Automation Technologies PTA - 2009", the participation contributed to solving the following tasks:

  • search of new clients - 83 % of survey respondents
  • image maintenance - 75 %
  • maintenance of the existing relations - 58,3 %
  • participation in the professional community life - 41,67 %
  • presenting the new products and market research - 16,67 %

The organizers of "Advanced Automation Technologies PTA - 2009" had undertaken one more task - training. The exhibition was visited by students of departments of automation, computer systems, and instrument making of such educational establishments as RUDN, STANKIN, Moscow State Technical University n.a. N.E. Bauman, Moscow State University, Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute and others.


The visitors qualitative composition was the identifying feature of the events in all venue cities. Over five thousand experts in the field of industrial automation, buildings automation and inbuilt systems visited the exhibition "Advanced Automation Technologies PTA - 2009".
