Announce: At the international exhibition for welding materials, equipment and technologies "Weldex - 2019", which will be held from 15 to 18 October in Moscow, the sector of welding robots will be presented.
Robotization is one of the major industrial trends of recent years.
The application of automated systems allows to improve production technology and bring it to a whole new level both in speed of task fulfilment and in quality of work. Today it is difficult to imagine many of the key industries without actively using robotic solutions companies.
According to research by the International Federation of Robotics, sales of robots are actively growing year by year and the number of units sold reaching into the hundreds of thousands. Therefore, in 2017, 381 thousand industrial robots were put into operation around the world, in 2018 - 384 thousand.
The highest percentage of robots is in the automotive industry (33 %), the electronics industry (32 %) and metallurgy (10 %). The greatest share in the use in production is occupied by welding robots, because this type of work requires increased accuracy, reliability and methodology - qualities that can be provided by specialized programmable equipment.
Welding robots are capable of performing the main types of welding work: arc welding, metal inert gas welding (MIG), Gas tungsten arc welding (TIG), resistance spot welding. The main advantage of the equipment lies in its ability to repeatedly carry out the same operation with constant accuracy and quality. This increases the speed, reliability and efficiency of work.
Welding robots can be used at different stages of production, whether it's preparatory work (marking and cleaning workpieces, positioning parts) or the process of welding, cutting or soldering.
Modern robots are equipped with sensor and laser scanning systems, technical vision. These technologies allows controlling the parameters of it's work and achieve maximum convenience and safety of production.
The use of welding robots minimizes the human factor and eliminates the risk associated with this operation for the health of workers. With proper programming, correct operation and timely replacement of consumables and wearing parts, one industrial robot can last up to 10-15 years, during that time, repeatedly recouping the money spent on it.
Despite the obvious advantages of using industrial robots, in Russia this area is currently at the initial stage of development. The annual number of robots acquired by local companies reaches only a few hundred: 713 units in 2017, 860 in 2018.
This is due to several factors. First of all, prices for equipment are high, reaching tens of thousands of euros per unit. The second factor is the complexity of the software settings. Programming welding robots requires a complete understanding of the working environment and all the nuances of ongoing operations, therefore, only highly qualified specialists can deal with this process.
For these reasons, there is a wide-spreaded opinion that the acquisition of industrial robots is advisable only for large enterprises that need a further increase in the volume of output of goods and a reduction in labor costs. But the experience of recent years shows that this step can be justified also for medium and some small companies.
The manufacturing efficiency of the same type production using welding robots is so high that the amount is becoming less and less important. At the forefront come the indicators of the product quality that can be obtained in minimal time at the lowest cost. In this regard, robotic systems are second to none and are able to pay off in the shortest possible time.
In addition to this, many global manufacturers are following the main course towards the general adoption of affordable technologies. Companies are gradually introducing cheaper and easier-to-manage solutions to the market that will suit both large factories and small welding workshops. Based on this, in the coming years we can expect an increase in sales of welding robots in Russia.
