MU "Center of Choreographic Art of Penza"

Address: Russia, Penza, St. Leonov, 1A.

The center of choreographic art of Penza was founded in 2002, has:
- one large auditorium for 530 seats;
- conference hall for 50 seats.

In the Centre there are 28 club groups with the total number of participants 861 people:
- 23 team of Amateur (533 participants);
- 5 of clubs (328 participants).

Today in the Center of choreographic art of Penza is the 17 dance groups (440 people):
- 13 children's (405 participants);
- 5 for youth (111 participants);
- one theater club (20 participants);
- orchestra of folk instruments (5 participants), the center also has a Studio of pop vocal "Rovesniki" (10 participants).

In 2012 in the Center of choreographic art of Penza carried out 227 different events, which were attended by 50,000 people.

The Center has several dance areas:
- folk dance;
- modern dance (Hip-hop, pop dance)
- in the future the opening of the Studio of ballroom dance.

Among the variety of cultural events the Center annually conducts the all-Russian festival-competition "Dance, Volga region!" in which collectives of Penza participate dance groups from different regions of the Russian Federation.

The annual festivals are:
- festival for the youngest of dancers "From 3 to 5 years";
- "Crossroads of hope";
- "Day of dance";
- "Battle time";
- creative reports choreographic collectives.

In addition, traditionally held the Bishop's Christmas tree; dance nights in the club "Nostalgia"; the theatre "Dialog"; the ensemble of song and romance "Legenda"; evening for veterans; student parties.

The main goal of the Center of choreographic art of Penza is:
- preservation and development of intangible cultural heritage of the city of Penza;
- moral-aesthetic education of the population through dance and other arts;
- propaganda of healthy lifestyle, truly social guidelines and values;
- realization of the needs of creative and cultural requests.
