Visa support
To obtain Russian entry tourist visa, you must present the following documents to Russian consulates:
filled application form, one per person;
valid national passport, validity exceeding planned date of departure from Russia by 3 months;
three black-and-white, passport-size, matt-finish photographs;
invitation from an authorised Russian agent;
confirmation of tourist's hotel accommodation;
tourist voucher.
The visa fee is paid at Russian consulates.
The charge varies according to home country, as do documents required.
A Russian entry tourist visa is a passport-size document which is
stamped or inserted into the passport. It contains entry and exit dates,
passport number, lists accompanied children and states the visa type.
It can also list, but does not limit, cities you plan to visit.
The document gives permission to enter and leave the country.
If you lose it or exceed the stay duration you can have difficulties
upon departure. You must register your visa within 72 hours of arrival
to avoid paying a fine. Upon hotel check-in, you must submit your
passport with the visa for hotel registration.
The process normally takes slightly more than an hour.
Visa prolongation is possible only under force-major circumstances (war operations, natural calamities, etc.) and in case of:
departure impossibility proved by medical certificates;
departure impossibility due to flight delay or cancellation.
Only your authorized Russian agent can be engaged in
the difficult procedure of visa prolongation. Departure with an
unregistered visa causes fines at passport control, including
the possibility of being black-listed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This bars entry for five years.
Please keep in mind that authorized Russian agent does not issue visas
by itself.
Authorized Russian agent can grant visa support.
Visa support is granted to cover the program of a tourist's stay
on territories of the Russian Federation but no longer than for
the duration of the stay in hotels and travel on territories of the
Russian Federation confirmed by travel papers on condition of 100% prepayment
for hotel accommodation and additional services including excursion programs,
transport services etc. Additional services can be paid after arriving
in the Russian Federation. If hotel accommodation is not
booked through tourist agency, visa support is not provided.
To obtain visa support, the following information must be forwarded to tourist agency: An application form on the letterhead of organization indicating legal and payment essential elements, containing the information concerning hotel reserved, terms of the tourist staying in the hotel, additional services, payment guarantee and copy of passport. It will take not less than 24 hours to issue visa support papers from the time of 100% prepayment for hotel accommodation for the whole period of the tourist's stay in the hotel according to the program. In case of trip cancellation, a charge of the first night's accommodation is imposed on the tourist. Under conditions of passport and visa issue inspection or foreign citizens in Russia stay conditions severing, tourist agency has the right to refuse visa support without explanation.
