- BIHE is organized by the leading organizer of more than 300 annual exhibitions in CIS and Eastern Europe, including such exhibitions, as Zdrovochranenie (Moscow), Hospital (St. Petersburg), KIHE (Almaty), TIHE (Tashkent) ITE Group PLC (UK) and its exclusive partner in Caucasia Iteca Caspian.
Why Azerbaijan?
- Due to natural resources, particularly oil & gas reserves, its geopolitical location, strong legal system and large intellectual resources, nowadays Azerbaijan is one of the most attractive countries of CIS for investors.
- The total volume of foreign investments to the economy of Azerbaijan will exceed $28,5 bln. for 10 years. This figure is five times bigger than 1992-2002 investment index.
- For 9 months of 2002, GDP in Azerbaijan increased by 12,3% in comparison with the same period of 2001, making Azerbaijan the leader in CIS countries.
- The volume of pharmaceutical market is equaled to $120 mln.
- The major part of market belongs to Eastern Europe, USA, Russia, Turkey, India, and other countries - large exporters of pharmaceuticals
- In the frame of second stage of privatization 300 medical institutions, private hospitals, clinics and others will be privatized with decentralization of purchase of medical equipment, cost materials and pharmaceuticals.
- About $85 mln. of budget will be assigned to healthcare sector in Azerbaijan in 2003. $45 mln. of this sum is allotted for purchase of medical equipment, cost materials and pharmaceuticals.
- Both international finance organizations (World Bank, UNICEF, etc.) and banks (Deutsche Bank), and individual countries give credits and grants for financing of the projects in healthcare sphere, particularly for construction, re-construction and equipping of hospitals, clinics. As example for largest of these projects, building and equipping of the Central Clinical Hospital ($28 mln.) and re-construction of the Ophthalmologic Center into semi-profile hospital ($60-70 mln.).

Among them officials from Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan Republic, distributors and dealers from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Dagestan, Iran, Turkey. South Russia and Central Asia, directors, chief doctors of hospitals and clinics, managers and medical officers of all state and private medical institutions, beauty shops, doctors and end users from Azerbaijan and Georgia.
