The history of the Blade exhibitions dates back to 1999. At that time, the organizers of the future exhibitions, Valery Egorov and Olga Chubukova, met people who were then the mainstream of the Russian "knife" process. These were I.A. Skrylev, L.B. Arkhangelsky and S.V. Butov. Of no small importance was the communication with the head of the laboratory of cold and throwing weapons of the Forensic Science Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police colonel A.M. Gerasimov. It was at that time that the system of circulation of cold weapons and products structurally similar to them was being built, which is now effectively operating in Russia.
The Blade exhibitions, the first of which was held in April 2000, immediately took their place in the information and advertising space of Russia. They disseminated information on the rules for the circulation of bladed products, held seminars and "round tables" on the problems of knife certification, and production licensing issues. From the first exhibitions, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of Moscow and the Ministry of Culture have been actively participating in the work of the organizing committee. The first exhibition brought together 8 participants, the 14th (2006) - about two hundred. In 2000, authorization to exhibit and trade in CW has been obtained.
