Description
Marine engineers and designers have a direct influence on ship design which means they influence seamen and passengers of the designed ships. In recent years, they have been making increasing efforts to gain an awareness of human factor issues and to improve their understanding of how and why their designs influence human behaviour.
This conference aims to bring together international specialists and professionals including designers, ship operators, mariners, equipment manufacturers and regulators to highlight how the sensible application of ergonomics and human factors can provide an opportunity to both reduce costs and improve safety.
