Seminars / Presentations.

The following scientific workshops and presentations were organized as a part of the exhibitions "Healthcare - TIHE 2006" and "Pharmacy/Pharmtech 2006":

• Scientific and practical workshop by GE Healthcare (General Electric) - "Future Technologies in Today's Medicine". A series of lectures on new technologies by General Electric
• Workshop by Sealed Air "Flexible polyolefin containers of Sealed Air Cryovac (USA) for production of pharmaceutical solutions meeting the GMP requirements"

These workshops and presentations were conducted by leading specialists from different units of the Russian and German companies.

Official Evening Reception.

Official Evening Reception dedicated to the 11th "TIHE 2006" Exhibition and 1st "Pharmacy/Pharmtech 2006" was held on the 1st day of the exhibition i.e. on April, 4 at the "Amir Temur" Hall of "Intercontinental Tashkent" hotel. About 300 persons, including the participants of the exhibition, official persons, representatives of mass media, VIP visitors of the participants of the exhibition and ITE Uzbekistan team, were present at the Evening Reception. Deputy Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Khodjibekov M.Kh wished all participants successful work at the exhibition.

"TEVA Pharmaceuticals Industries" was awarded with a certificate and prize for continuous participation at the exhibition

The award "The best product presentation" went to "GE Healthcare" and "Mindray" companies. Companies' representatives received a certificate and a memory prize.

The award "The best stand design at Pharmacy/Pharmtech 2006" went to Arterium Corporation. Company's representative received a certificate and a memory prize.

The award "For active participation at Pharmacy/Pharmtech 2006" went to MFS Servis. Company's representative received a certificate and a memory prize.

Each participant received a certificate of gratitude during the exhibition.

Exhibition.

The 11th International "TIHE 2006" Exhibition is one of the biggest events in field of health care of Uzbekistan and Central Asia in general. On the base of TIHE exhibition 1st Central- Asian International exhibition "Pharmacy/Pharmtech 2006" was organized. In the opinion of professional community and governmental officials the main thematic event of the country has become not only an efficient base, demonstrating the achievements of local and foreign manufacturers of medical products, but also the mechanism of promotion of medical industry of Uzbekistan in foreign countries and the countries of CIS as well.

The exhibition was visited by representatives and export managers of well-known manufacturers of medical products from France, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Morocco and Ukraine. Dealer representatives of the largest dealer companies from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, The Kyrgyz Republic and Turkmenistan arrived at the exhibition. In four days of the exhibition about 9,000 Uzbek specialists visited the exhibition, including those from remotest country's regions. The teachers of medical universities and other medical institutions specially planned the visiting of the exhibition with groups of students beforehand. Year after year this exhibition allows all specialists of health care field to get familiarized with the advanced achievements of the fields of new technologies, pharmaceutics, medical technology, dentistry and also allows to establish business contacts that will extend the field of mutually beneficial cooperation between foreign and Uzbek companies. More than 130 specialists in cardiology, radiodiagnosis, pharmacy and other medicine sectors from different country's regions visited scientific seminars that were held during TIHE-2006 and Pharmacy/Pharmtech exhibitions.

Minister of the Public Health of Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. F. Nazirov said that annually held "TIHE" exhibition is one of the most important events in country's healthcare sector. Constantly renewed stands of new medical equipment and pharmaceuticals attract attention of healthcare specialists, while scientific seminars and presentations, being the part of event, give a practical opportunity to increase specialists' professional level and assist in choosing right ways of introduction of new methods and technologies to the practical healthcare sector.

Participants.

More than 100 companies from 19 countries, including Belarus, Hungary, Israel, India, Italy, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, USA, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Czech Republic and Switzerland participated at "TIHE 2006" exhibition.

This year among regular participants that exhibit medicinal equipment and instruments were such foreign companies as CARL ZEISS, DRAEGER MEDICAL AG & CO. KG, E-S-S GMBH, GE HEALTHCARE, INTERMEDICA INC, HOSPITEX DIAGNOSTICS, KURT & KURT, SCHILLER UZ, VIASYS HEALTHCARE GMBH, HOKTO TRADING CO. LTD, AYSET PLASTIK TEKSTIL, SHIMADZU GMBH and others.

The following CIS companies participated in the exhibition: ALTAIVITAMINY, CORPORATION ARTERIUM (KIEVMEDPREPARAT), ABOLMED, BORISOV CPP, NIZHFARM, POLYSAN, BORSCHAGOV CPP, SAREPTA LLC, YURIA PHARM, BIOLEK, PF DARNITSA, PETROSPIRT, BELMEDPREPARATY, BOLEAR and others.

The following Uzbekistan's companies participated in the "Pharmacy/Pharmtech 2006" exhibition: FIRST PHARMACEUTICAL LTD., LAHISAM, LUCH STOM INTERPRISE, MAKDIL PHARMA, MFS-SERVIS, ASKLEPIY SWIFT, AFFILIATE COMPANY PHARMED FIRMASI, CHASHMA, SARBONTEX SТМ, NOBEL PHARMSANOAT, UNIVERSAL PHARMA, and others. Overall Uzbek companies made 25% of total participants.

Visitors: 8 700 qualified specialists went through computer registration during 4 days of the exhibition. Specialist from all regions of Uzbekistan and other Central Asian Republics visited the exhibition, including 2,600 specialists who came the first day.

Prospects of "TIHE 2007" and "Pharmacy/Pharmtech 2007" exhibitions' development.

11th Uzbek International Exhibition "TIHE 2006" and 1st International Exhibition "Pharmacy/Pharmtech 2006" gathered leading companies specializing in production of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. Nowadays the situation arises so that there is a necessity of organization of specialized exhibitions and other events in Uzbekistan for development of existing infrastructure of the Republic, attraction of new technologies, services, know-how and investments in the economy of Uzbekistan. According to above research, 38% of participants took part in exhibition for the first time. The largest number of Uzbek companies-participants out of all years of exhibition was noted this year (25% of all companies).

Pharmaceutical market is steadily growing. Nowadays 80 pharmaceuticals enterprises-producers are registered in Uzbekistan. That means not only quantitive and geographical growth of the exhibition by attracting new companies on local market but also by expanding Uzbek companies' part in total number of participants.

Next year exhibitions TIHE 2007 and PHARMACY/PHARMTECH 2007 will be held same dates, which allows to gather all medical specialists from all Uzbekistan's regions and Central Asia in the same time. Each exhibition will include scientific forums. Forums and exhibitions will become a place for partners, colleagues, industry specialists; assist to experience and ideas exchange.

The annual participation of foreign producers and local businessmen at the exhibition not only allows to attract potential investors, but also promotes the further development of cooperation, establishing contacts between Uzbekistan and International business community in general. A significant interest of world producers in Uzbekistan and actual necessity in the promotion of products of local production reflect in the increased demand for exhibition areas.
