The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Government of the Khanty-Mansijsk Autonomous District - Yugra, City Administration of Surgut, "Surgutneftegas" OJSC.
This annual traditional exhibition has a great importance for the development of the national fuel and energy industry and it is one of the significant projects in oil-and-gas sector of the Khanty-Mansijsk Autonomous District. This prestigious exhibition allows the experts to have a look at the newest Russian and foreign machines and technologies, to carry out helpful discussions and experience exchange, to lay foundation of the future agreements, to establish mutually beneficial business connections with the partners.
In 2008, the 13th Specialized Exhibition "Surgut. Oil and Gas" gathered 200 companies from Russia, Slovakia, Germany, Japan, Ukraine, Finland, the event was visited by 4,796 people, including 86% of experts from the leading oil-and-gas and related companies of the Khanty-Mansijsk Autonomous District, Ekaterinburg, Omsk, Tyumen, Moscow, Ufa, Tomsk and other cities. During the work of the exhibition the exhibitors established over 2,500 business connections, signed over 100 agreements and over 200 protocols of intent.
Despite the severe financial conditions in the countru and in the world, more than 150 companies from 25 regions of Russia and from Germany and Finland have already declared their desire to participate in the exhibition in 2009. It is significant that about 50% of the exhibitors take part in this event for the first time. It shows not only the attractiveness of the Khanty-Mansijsk Autonomous District as one of the largest oil and gas region in Russia but also the importance of this exhibition for attracting investments and forming interregional and international business cooperation. In favour of the competence of this exhibition speaks the fact that it is held under the auspices of the Chamber of the Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and bears the sign of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, expressing the special meaning of this exhibiting event for the Russian economy. Traditionally, the event will be held in a roofed pavilion and on the open air grounds.
On the square, adjacent to the Sports Complex "Energetik", 17 companies will present over 30 samples of heavy-duty machines and vehicles, which are widely used by oil-and-gas companies. The exhibition working programme will be rich with various events, held in the form of seminars and presentations with participation of exhibitors.
