Venue: Palace of Culture Chkalov
The All-Russian exhibition-fair "Pokrovskaya Osen" is a large-scale cultural and spiritual event aimed at reviving and developing national traditions and Orthodox culture. The exhibition will take place from 9 to 15 October 2026 in Novosibirsk, at the venue of the Palace of Culture and Creativity named after V. Chkalov (34/1 Dzerzhinskogo Ave.). The exhibition will be open daily throughout the entire period. It brings together representatives of churches and monasteries, icon painters, masters of folk crafts and Orthodox publishing houses from various regions of Russia. Participants include parishes, monasteries, icon-painting workshops, publishing houses and folk artisans. The event is traditionally held with the blessing of the Novosibirsk Metropolia and is timed to coincide with the Feast of the Intercession of the Theotokos. In 2026, the event is dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and the 125th anniversary of the Church of the Intercession of the Theotokos in Novosibirsk.
The spiritual and educational programme includes daily prayer services at venerated shrines. Open lectures on church history will be conducted by invited specialists. The concert part features performances by the archbishop's choir of the Novosibirsk Metropolia and instrumental ensembles with a programme of sacred music. Also planned are screenings of documentary films dedicated to the history of Orthodoxy and modern church life, as well as creative meetings with Orthodox writers and poets. Alongside the exhibition, a church local history conference on the historical and cultural heritage of the region will be held, as well as sessions of the historical and genealogical society. Guests will be offered presentations of new Orthodox books. The central event is the celebration of the Feast of the Intercession of the Theotokos on 14 October, which will conclude with a solemn prayer service and akathist.
Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in Orthodox culture, see and purchase icons from various icon-painting schools, church decorations, liturgical utensils, monastic handicrafts (embroidery, carving, beadwork), and a wide selection of Orthodox literature — from liturgical books to children's editions. The exhibition serves as a platform for communication and exchange of experience among representatives of dioceses, monasteries and masters of folk crafts.
