Press conference

The press conference devoted to the exhibition was held on 28 February at the Inter-Continental Tashkent Hotel. Over 35 accredited journalists have participated in the press among which there were the representatives of local, Russian press, TV and radio, and also international press. Press-conference presidium consisted of Mrs. Azimova M. (Chairman of Holding Company "Fayz"), Mr. Akhrarkhodzhaev A. (Managing Director of the State Committee on architecture and construction of the Republic of Uzbekistan), Mr. Mukhitdinov A. (Managing Director of JSC "Uzstroymaterialy").

On behalf of the organisers the floor was given to Mr. Edward Strachan (Director of ITE for Central Asia, Caucasus and Turkey), Ms. Nigora Khasanova (Director / ITE Uzbekistan), Ms. Irina Danilova (Exhibition Director / ITE Uzbekistan).

Official opening ceremony

At the official opening ceremony held on 1 March there were the following officials:

• Mr. Khanov N. - Head of the Municipal, Transport, Capital Construction and Construction Industry Department of the Cabinet Of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• Mr. Khurramov O. - Leading Expert of the Information and Analytical Department of Municipal, Transport, Capital Construction and Construction Industry Department of the Cabinet Of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• Mr. Kuznetsov V. - Financial Councilor of the Russian Federation;
• Mr. Yastrebov V. - 3rd Secretary of the Embassy of Russian Federation;
• Mrs. Azimova M. - Chairman of Holding Company "Fayz";
• Mr. Akramov E. - Chairman of Board of JSC "Uzstroymaterialy";
• Mr. Shaykhov A. - Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

The official delegation headed by Mr. Khurramov and Mr. Akramov has visited some stands at the exhibition. Also the ministries and departments of Uzbekistan have visited opening ceremony.

During opening ceremony the organisers have handed the certificates of gratitude for active participation and support to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, JSC "Uzstroymaterialy" and Uzexpocentre.

Official Evening Reception / Awards Ceremony

The official Evening Reception devoted to the UzBuild 2005 exhibition opening was held on 2 March in Crystal Ball Room of the Inter-Continental Tashkent Hotel. Evening Reception was attended by over 200 persons (exhibitors, officials, ITE Group Plc and ITE Uzbekistan partners, Mass Media representatives).

During the Evening Reception there was the Awards Ceremony of Certificates where the following companies were nominated:

3. Best Product Presentation - BODUR Co. LTD / KALEKIM company (Turkey-Uzbekistan)

Exhibition

UzBuild is the largest annual trade show for the construction industry in Uzbekistan which has become the all-encompassing focus of attention for the specialist audience. Since its launch in 2000, UzBuild has introduced over 250 international companies which have encouraged the further development of the construction industry in Uzbekistan.

Exhibitors

UzBuild 2005 has introduced 70 companies from 14 countries of the world including companies from Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Finland, the Czech Republic, Sweden.

Such well-known and large companies as GRUNDFOS, WILO, ONDULINE, ITT FLYGT INTERNATIONAL, KOMPEN, TEGOLA, OSRAM, URSA EURASIA, MAXIT (OPTIROC), ABLOY and many other were presented at UzBuild 2005.

The foreign companies and the companies from the CIS countries presented various sectors of the building industry, namely:

• Pipes and fittings were presented by NJT-2000 company (Azerbaijan), IMI International (Great Britain), CHEBOKSARY AGGREGATE PLANT (Russia), FIRAT, NOVAPLAST and PILSA PLASTIC PRODUCTS from Turkey
• Pump equipment was presented by GRUNDFOS company (Austria), WILO (Germany) and ITT FLYGT (Sweden)
• PVC profile for windows and doors was shown by ADOPEN and KOMPEN companies (Turkey), ZIGENIA company from Germany
• Roofing materials - TEGOLA CANADESE (Italy), ONDULINE (Turkey), ТЕХНОНИКОЛЬ (Russia)
• Isolation materials - PAROC (Finland), JUTA (Czech Republic), URSA EURASIA (Russia)
• Lighting devices were presented by TRADING HOUSE SVETOTECHNIKA (Russia), ELETECH (Russia), BLV and OSRAM companies (Germany)
• Dry mixes, glues, building materials - SELENA, U-KON ENGINEERING (Russia), KALEKIM and SIKA (Turkey), MAXIT (Finland) and many other companies
• Saunas and pools were presented by RITOX company from Kazakhsta

Participation of the Russian companies which production is known both to professionals, and amateurs is constant: WESSEN ELECTRO, МАРТИН, CONTACT and many others.

It is pleasant to note the participation of a significant amount of the companies from Uzbekistan which have recognised UzBuild as the most important event of a building industry of the Central Asian region. UzBuild regular exhibitors are ARABBOY company from Uzbekistan which is cooperating with German companies KERMI and VIESSMANN, AKVATEX company representing PEDROLLO filtrational and pump equipment, TECHNOLIGHT company, PRESTIJ-INTER'ER, AND-POLIC, TASHELEKTROAPPARAT and some other.

For the first time at the UzBuild exhibition the were participating the following national companies:

• ARIPOV, private enteurpreneur - the heating equipment
• BODUR - building materials, sanitaryware, tiles
• DESK INVEST, JV - metal tiles
• HEFTGAZKIPAVTOMATIKA - anticorrosive paints and equipment
• SEL-NA - paints and varnish products of DYO trade mark (Turkey)

Visitors

About 10,000 visitors from Uzbekistan and other Central Asia republics (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, etc.) have visited the exhibition. Within 4 days of the exhibition over 5,000 qualified visitors have passed the computerised registration.

Development perspectives of Uzbekistan Building Week and MebelExpo Uzbekistan exhibitions

The realization of exhibitions is necessary. Today the situation is developing in such a way that there is a strong necessity for Uzbekistan for realization the specialized exhibitions and other events in order to develop continuously the existing infrastructure of Republic, to attract new technologies, services, know-how, investments in economy of Uzbekistan. For today the realization of exhibitions, various seminars, presentations, forums is necessary. The exhibitions play a role of a meeting place for of meetings partners, colleagues, industry experts, promote an exchange of experience, ideas, etc.

The realization of the specialized exhibition on building materials and technologies, systems of heating and conditioning is not the exception. Such branch as construction is one of most important one in country infrastructure development. Uzbekistan Building Week exhibition is the only and largest event in the Republic on building materials and technologies, systems of heating and ventilation. The exhibition attracts not only the potential investors, but promotes development of cooperation, adjustment of contacts between Uzbekistan and International business community.

Today UzBuild proves that the interest of leading world manufacturers to the building market of Uzbekistan has considerably increased in comparison with the last years. For example, in 2001 at the UzBuild exhibition participated only 20 companies. But next year we plan to expand UzBuild exposition to 1,500 sq.m., and we expect to attract over 100 companies.

Distinctive feature of the UzBuild exhibition is its business character, the high level of organisation and an atmosphere of working mood. This exhibition fully reflects the tendencies of building market development due to the wide scope of regions and multinational structure of exhibitors. We are proud of our exhibitors: in fact they are leading representatives of the building industry, the true professionals.

UzBuild 2006 will be held on 1-4 March, 2006 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and will present the following sections:
