Announce: The 1st United International Exhibition" Flowers. Landscape. Farmstead - 2010. Technologies of Protected Soil, Hothouse Complexes" will be held on May 13 - 16, in Astana.
The 1st United International Exhibition "Flowers. Landscape. Farmstead - 2010. Technologies of Protected Soil, Hothouse Complexes" will be held on May 13 - 16, in Astana.
The exhibition on flowers and landscape has been held from 2003, twice a year (spring, autumn), in Almaty. For the first time the exhibition will be held in Astana.
The idea of organizing the event arose in response to the rapidly growing pace of city building and the need to green up the adjacent territories. Due to this the exhibition had distinct landscape character. The participants of the first exhibitions were Russian plant growing and small private landscape companies, as well as foreign firms, which were going to open representations in Kazakhstan. The cooperation with city councils had a familiarization character, the prices and undeveloped logistics were also discouraging. Year after year these problems have been solved, and in addition to the municipal attention, individual persons, who wanted to improve their villas, mansions and summer cottages started showing interest in landscape design.
Floristic and horticultural market was at an early stage of development, and the interest from flower companies was minimal.
Eventually, as the market became saturated with high-quality planting material, seeds, gardening tools, and watering equipment, native and foreign plant growing and landscape companies became interested in larger municipal and state orders.
The city of the 2010 exhibition was selected due to several important factors:
- The exhibition is timed to the head of state anniversary
- Adoption and introduction of the State Program on creating the "Green Circle" around Astana
- Insufficient central region market saturation with planting material
The experience of arranging such an event has determined several significant peculiarities in exhibition period and duration:
- The date of the exhibition should coincide with the beginning of the plants vegetation period, in Astana it is the middle of May
- The exhibition should last 4 days, 2 of which should be working days, and the other 2 - off days. Otherwise, many visitors - individual persons and private companies, which constitute a large segment of customers, wouldn't be able to attend the exhibition
The venue also wasn't selected by chance. The Congress Hall is located in the central part of the city, where public events are traditionally held.
The event is held with the support of:
- Kazakhstan Ministry of Agriculture
- Kazakhstan Ministry of Industry and Trade
- Astana city council
- Kazakhstan Customs Committee
- National company "Kazagro"
The exhibition includes round-table discussions on the issues of:
- Custom processing of "vegetative" cargos
- Quarantine requirements for "vegetative" cargos
- State crediting of landscape projects
- Formation of tender documents
To date, the flower market has grown to the interest of professional floristry, so the exhibition will include the first in Kazakhstan floristic show with the participation of Dutch and Moscow expert-florists, who will give master-classes.
